Vol. 2 Samantha & her babies ～サマンサママと赤ちゃんたち ～
.゜+.(=＾ェ＾=)゜+.゜ ７月現在、まだサマンサより一回りくらい小さいウッドチャックの子どもたちですが、５月の登場当初、赤ちゃん赤ちゃんしていた時期の写真をまた載せていきます。まず最初はトリーシャちゃん。
There are still a lot of pictures from late May. The babies were much smaller in May than they are now.
The babies didn't know about carrots so they started eating only leaves of carrots until they learned how good carrots taste.
This baby's name is Trisha.
サマンサ（母）
The mom, Samantha, loves strawberries.
This baby, Bear, is trying to get mom's strawberry. Left, Trisha must want it, too. But mom just scolded Trisha a few minutes ago. Maybe, Trisha is afraid mom will scold her again.
奪いにかかっているのは誰か分かりませんが（多分ベアちゃんっぽい）、後ろで見ているのはトリーシャです。トリちゃんも欲しいんだとは思いますが、この数分前に同じことをしてサマンサからせっかんを受けています。

そのせいでしょうか…トリちゃん、参加せずに素通りしています。
この時に奪いにかかっていたベアちゃんもかなりしつこかったため、サマンサが最後に甘噛みしています。

さらにこの直後、やはりベアちゃんっぽい子がサマのブロッコリにチャレンジ。
Moreover, Bear challenged Sam's broccoli again.
その後ろにいるのは、サマの食べ残したイチゴのヘタを口にしているトリーシャです(涙)。

さらにそれすらベアちゃんに奪われそうになり小競り合い(涙)。

赤ちゃんが取り合いをして、キューッと鳴いています。サマもそれに少しびっくり。そしてタネを食べに去っていったサマを、ベアちゃんが追いかけているところで終わります。
The one sitting forward is Bear. She has a light circle around her nose. I thought it was like a bear. The one sitting behind Bear is Trisha. She has a dark triangle on her nose so I named her Tri-sha.
I call all babies "her" because it is my wish that they become mom and bring their babies again, like Samantha does.
手前がベアちゃん、と思われる子。鼻の周りが白くて、私のイメージするクマみたいな感じなのでベアと名付けました。でも似たような子がもう一人いる感じ。
奥にいるトリーシャちゃんは、鼻の所の黒い三角（トライアングル triangle）が特徴的な子です。そのtriangleからとって、Trisha（トリーシャ）と名付けました。男の子か女の子かは分からないのですが、女の子だとサマンサのようにいつか赤ちゃんを連れてきてくれるかな？という願いも込めて、勝手にみんな女の子として扱っています。ウッドチャックのお父さんは、出産後は巣を離れてしばらくは一緒に住まないようです。
さて、さらにこの後、赤ちゃんもなんとかブロッコリを先に見つけることができましたが、それをサマンサが見て奪いにやってきました…

Poor baby, Bear...
Bear tried biting Sam a few times to get the broccoli back, but Bear quit it before Sam got angry. The video is below this picture.
このあと、ベアちゃんは深追いしなかったせいか怒られずに済みました。

この日は散々な目に遭ったトリーシャ。オオバコサラダで満足できたかな？
Another poor baby, Trisha, is eating plantain weed salad.
「葉っぱを食べる！」と、おそらくは遺伝子レベルでインプットされているウッドチャックの赤ちゃん。庭と森を隔てている葉っぱの壁、サマンサママは食べているところを見たことがないですが、赤ちゃんたちは来た当初、よく食べていました。なんと１匹が細い枝に登って葉っぱを食べていました。枝が折れないものなんですね。それくらいウッドチャックの赤ちゃんは小さくて軽い！

赤ちゃん５匹そろうことがあまりなく、貴重な４匹のショット。
It is hard to see all 5 babies together. I could only take a picture of 4 babies this time.
さて次の写真、ニンジンの実は、横に見えてる大きなお尻のサマンサがすでに食べてしまいました。
Sam on the left has already eaten all the carrots. This baby at the dish is Sushi or Buttercup.
ニンジンの葉っぱは赤ちゃんの担当。
The babies eat the leaves of carrots.
ぬいぐるみのようにコロンとした赤ちゃんたち。そんな赤ちゃんたちの様子をまた記事にしていきますね。
